Difference between IP Camera and CCTV Camera

1. IP Camera :
IP camera is a type of digital video camera used for surveillance which transmits data via a network Ethernet link also known as Internet Protocol camera. IP camera security system provides a better security with a number of additional features than traditional CCTV camera security system. IP cameras provides good quality video signals and allows to transfer signal or data via a network Ethernet link.

2. CCTV Camera :
CCTV Camera is a type of digital video camera used for surveillance which transmits a signal for observation on monitor also known as Close Circuit Television. The network of CCTV cameras makes up a complete security system and the signals are monitored and recorded and these video signals are not publicly distributed to outside receivers.

4 IP cameras use Power over Ethernet(POE) so that the need of power cables are eliminated. CCTV cameras use coaxial cables and UTP cables as power and network cables.
5 IP cameras offer higher resolution video and better picture quality than CCTV cameras. CCTV cameras offer lower resolution video and less picture quality than IP cameras.
6 In this system multiple number of IP cameras can be added. In this system limited number of CCTV cameras can be added.
